Quick Start

This is the fastest path to a live Hunch deployment that matches the current product surface.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to your website's code or theme settings
  • A Hunch account
  • A live website you can test in a browser

Step 1: Create and verify your account

  1. Visit hunchbank.com/#pricing.
  2. Create your account with your name, company, email, and password.
  3. Open the verification email and confirm the account before first login.

Step 2: Add Your Website

  1. Log in to your Hunch dashboard at app.hunchbank.com
  2. Navigate to Websites in the sidebar
  3. Click Add Website
  4. Enter your website URL, including https://
  5. Click Add Website

Hunch will generate a website-specific API key and embed snippet for that site.

Step 3: Install the widget

Copy the script from the website setup screen or use the current versioned embed directly:

<script src="https://cdn.hunchbank.com/embed.js" data-api-key="YOUR_API_KEY"></script>

Install it before the closing </body> tag, or use one of the platform guides:

Step 4: Verify installation and discovery

  1. Go back to your Hunch dashboard
  2. Navigate to your website settings
  3. Click Verify Installation
  4. Once verified, run discovery so Hunch maps forms, actions, and important pages on your site

After discovery, review the generated tools and disable anything you do not want the assistant to use.

Step 5: Configure the widget

At minimum, configure:

  • Widget title, greeting, colors, theme preset, and launcher icon
  • Language and offline message
  • Trigger rules and handoff coverage
  • Team members and roles if more than one person will manage the site

Step 6: Add knowledge and test live paths

Load the information Hunch should use:

  • Website content discovered from the crawl
  • Manual text sources
  • URL sources
  • Text-based file uploads

Then create an eval suite and test your high-value scenarios before broader rollout.

Step 7: Launch and monitor

After launch, use the dashboard to monitor:

  • sessions and flagged conversations
  • handoffs and SLA pressure
  • notifications
  • leads captured
  • outcome and revenue influence

Optional Step 8: Connect external AI clients

If you want people or operators to use the same Hunch capabilities from ChatGPT or Claude:

  1. Open the website in the Hunch dashboard.
  2. Go to the MCP tab.
  3. Review the exposed capabilities and disable anything you do not want available externally.
  4. Copy the endpoint information from that page.
  5. Connect the website to your external AI client and approve the scopes you actually need.
